Feeling Guilty is a feature-length documentary about the 25-year history of Guilty Pleasures, Nashville’s favorite 80’s cover band.
Guilty Pleasures has been a fixture of the Nashville club scene since it first formed in 2001 at the Slow Bar in East Nashville. In 2022, while attending the band’s New Year’s Eve performance at the venerable Nashville venue 3rd and Lindsley, an idea was born. As the entire band belted out George Michael’s Freedom 90, it dawned on us that the Guilty Pleasures story would be a great subject for a documentary.
After two years of development, we finally started production on November 30, 2024. Through interviews with band members, fans, experts on the subject of 80s music, and notable figures from 80s music history, this film will piece together the origins of the band, how they have attracted a large, passionate fan base, and what it is that makes a Guilty show so special and different from other 80s cover bands.
Come see us at the shows, and step into the Guilty Pleasures Confessional booth to share your thoughts and appreciation for the band. The best confessions will have a chance to make it into the film.
Still in production, Feeling Guilty is slated for completion in the fall of 2026, making its festival run in 2027. At that time, we look forward to sharing with the rest of the world the extraordinary phenomenon, institution and band known as Guilty Pleasures.
